This grassroots effort could not have happened without our funders and local health department who supported the vision of a local nonprofit dedicated to Art with Purpose.
In late 2017, the seeds of Rise Up were sown by two remarkable women, Christy Keele and Tara Draeger. These visionary leaders attended an innovative pilot program organized by The RISE UP Central WI Steering Committee, held in the vibrant city of Philadelphia, PA. Their training was facilitated by the renowned Philadelphia Mural Arts and the transformative Porchlight Program, which provided them with a wealth of knowledge and inspiration.
The founding president, Christy Keele, and Vice President, Tara Draeger, returned to their community with a shared dream: to create a platform that harnesses the power of public art as a catalyst for community healing and growth.
